How do you feel about keychains on plushies

I’ve got a love/hate for keychains on my plushies.

It’s nice to have a keychain because:

  • Good way to express yourself by attaching it to a bag, backpack, etc
  • You can plushmax and have a million plushers attached to you. When I was in Japan this year I remember seeing a girl with like 10 of the same Pekkle keychains on her bag.
  • Is nice feeling have your favorite plusher coming with you in your daily life

Why I don’t like the keychain and it actually prevents me from buying plushies sometimes:

  • Having something “functional” on the plush, to me, makes it feel like it now has this one “set purpose” and that I can’t really enjoy it on its own anymore
  • Detracts from the design of the plush in general since it sticks out
  • These keychain plushies usually do not stand up on their own, so you can’t really display them on a shelf or elsewhere
  • They can get dirty when traveling with you so you have to be OK with that possibility

I have a set of the Chiikawa crew similar to pic below, and I like that they do not have a keychain and that they are built to stand up. That way they can all stand there on my desk or on my shelf.

So??? Do you like keychain on plushie or no? Reply and let me know

I agree. I’m not much of a backpack user, so that’d leave my keys as the only suitable spot for a keychainer. It would be a little bit too bulky for my liking.

The only alternative place I could think of putting one is hanging on my rear view mirror.

The chiikawa plushes on their own have a strong aura that can command any room, so in a way I’d prefer to have a few larger ones sitting around.

I have a PVC godzilla toy keychain on my keys right now. Once I start making some keychain plushies I’ll have a good idea of how they feel.

The godzilla toy figure is kind of big and at first I wasn’t sure if it would even work to put it in pockets but it does work. I imagine for the plush keychains they will work too, and their extra mass when not compressed in a pocket, such as holding in a hoodie kangaroo pocket, will help keep your keys in there when moving around.

I kind of thing a godzilla figure is more socially acceptable to have on your keys as a guy than a cute plushie but maybe we can make some things which don’t seem weird for a guy to have on his keys. The more silly/funny ones may work.

The plushies on keys may work better for women who use purses. Then they can have a giant plush connected to their keys and it becomes a thing to help them find their keys in their purse more easily.
